The NC Museum of the Coastal Plain will be temporarily closed from Jan. 20, 2012 until February 3, 2012 as we put into place our next exhibit. See you in February! The North Carolina Museum of the Coastal Plain is a regional museum that is dedicated to interpreting the ecology, pre-history, history, and culture of n counties in the middle Coastal Plain through exhibits, collections of significant and appropriate artifacts, and programming for people of all ages. The museum is located in Wilson, North Carolina, on the third floor of the former Federal Post Office and Courthouse, a four-story Beaux Art style building constructed in 1927. The Imagination Station Science Museum, a hands-on science museum, occupies the first and second floors of the building. Visitors can tour both museums.
